QUEENSBURY - After a long and courageous battle with addiction and mental illness, it is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lauren Elizabeth Potter on October 30, 2024, at her home with her beloved canine companion, Larry by her side.

Born in Glens Falls, N.Y., February 1, 1990, to Tina DeMarsh and Scott Potter. Lauren, age 34, had a truly beautiful soul inside and out; she was a free spirit with a huge heart.

Lauren was self-employed and excelled as a home health aide with her caring nature and kind heart; at the same time, she was incredibly strong and spent time working in construction as a laborer.

Lauren enjoyed horseback riding but also described herself as an "adrenaline and sensation seeker," with hobbies that included skydiving, four wheeling, snowmobiling and scuba diving. Lauren always found a sense of peace at the lake; she loved nature and caring for her many plants and animals. She was an avid reader and poet and enjoyed painting as well. Lauren loved to work out and would frequently join her mother at the yoga studio. Lauren studied Reiki and would use it to care for family and friends in need. Lauren was extremely passionate about everything she did and truly had her own vibe that her family describes as "Laurenesque".

Lauren was predeceased by Patricia and Edward Arcuri, maternal grandparents; Judith DeMarsh, grandmother; and William Skellie, grandfather.

Survivors include Tina and Richard DeMarsh, parents; Scott Potter and Ruth Barber, parent and significant other; Linda Skellie, paternal grandmother; David Potter and Judy Crossman, paternal grandparents; Elizabeth DeMarsh and Christopher Freeburg, sister and significant other; Kelli DeMarsh, sister; Cari and Robert Hamm, sister and husband; Jason DeMarsh, nephew; Tripp Freeburg, nephew; Tony Breen, family friend; her best friend, Kasey Mound; as well as many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We will all miss her beautiful smile and infectious laughter. Lauren was extremely spiritual, and we hope that she has finally found peace; she was loved beyond what words can express and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Friday, November 8, 2024, at St. Mary's Church, 62 Warren St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.

A celebration of Lauren's life is to immediately follow mass at Morgan and Company, 65 Ridge St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.

Per Laurens wishes in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA, "Out of The Pits", or "Lucky Puppy Rescue".
