Louis DiFiore Obituary

SOUTH GLENS FALLS * Louis DiFiore, 90, of Hilton Drive, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2007, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on April 23, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Matteo and Giovanni (Pizza) DiFiore.

At 5 years old, his parents and he moved back to Italy where he received his education.

He returned to the United States when he was in his late teens.

Louis married Jeanne Magee in 1982. He worked for many years as the business manager of Painters Union 466 in Glens Falls and was president of the Glens Falls Building and Trades Association for many years.

Besides his parents, Louis was predeceased by his first wife, Rose Baldo; his son, Matthew and his daughter-in-law, Patricia DiFiore; and his two brothers, Adolpho DiFiore and Alferio DiFiore.

Survivors beside his wife of 24 years are his son, Louis J. DiFiore and his wife, Mary Jane, of South Glens Falls and his daughter-in-law, Geneva DiFiore of Halfmoon; his three stepchildren: Michael Magee and his wife, Irene, of South Glens Falls and Patricia Tamaki and her husband, Dwight, and Kerry Magee all of Medford, N.J.; his eight grandchildren: Chris DiFiore and his wife, Kathy, of Clifton Park; Joanne Hogan and her fiancé, Rick Bollinger, of Ballston Spa; Dina Valastro and her husband, Jeff, of Hudson Falls; Lisa Brodt and her husband, John, of South Glens Falls; Mike DiFiore and his wife, Ashley, of Glens Falls; Pete DiFiore and his wife, Heather, of Queensbury; Erin Magee of South Glens Falls and Connor Tamaki of Medford, N.J.; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may call today, Friday, Aug. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the M. B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St., South Glens Falls. E-mail condolences may be sent to www.kilmers.com.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at St. Mary's Church, Warren Street, Glens Falls.

Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Main Street, South Glens Falls.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louis' name to the National Kidney Foundation of New York/New Jersey, 1250 Broadway, Suite 2001, New York, NY 10001 or Albany Medical Center, Neo-Natal Unit, New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
