Marcus Kenneth Grieve

SOUTH GLENS FALLS Marcus Kenneth Grieve, 2 1/2, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at his home on Kimberly Lane. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Oct. 22, 2005, he was one of twin sons born to Benjamin and Deidre (DiBattista) Grieve. Marcus and Ayden were baptized on July 2, 2006, at St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls. Besides rough housing with his twin brother, Ayden Ignacio, he enjoyed playing soccer and was a member of the Soccer Tots Team in Queensbury, he loved Thomas the Train and the movie "Cars." Marcus loved swimming in the ocean, eating glazed donuts and pizza and going to pre-school at World Class Kids Nursery School in South Glens Falls. His latest and greatest accomplishment was his ability to count to 10. He played hard and he loved hard and had the ability to bring a smile to those whose lives he touched. His maternal grandfather, Carl G. DiBattista, who died in 1992, and his maternal grandmother, Mary Dolly Cottrell who died in 1999, predeceased Marcus. Survivors besides his parents and his twin brother include a brother, Joseph Romero of Denver, Colo.; his paternal grandparents, Denise Yvonne Grieve and Monty Lloyd Barnett of Denver, Colo.; his aunt, Desiree Grieve and her son, Branden Wilkins, of Denver, Colo.; and his paternal great-grandparents, Ignacio and Yolanda Rodriguez; his maternal grandmother, Rosemarie Cottrell of South Glens Falls; his maternal great-grandfather, Kenneth Cottrell of Glens Falls; his maternal great-grandparents, Carl and Elizabeth DiBattista of South Glens Falls; and his aunt, Daniele Fish and her husband, Jon, and their children, Alyson and Ashlyn of Gansevoort; a large extended family in Wyoming and several aunts, uncles and cousins. There will be no calling hours at the request of the family. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 10, 2008, at 10 a.m., St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at St. Mary's Cemetery, Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of M.B.
