HUDSON FALLS – Marilyn R. Turner, 84 of Hudson Falls, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 4, 2025 at Elderwood Adult Home in Lake Placid.
Born on January 2, 1941, in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Louise (Duthoy) VanWaes.
In 1974, she married Edward Turner at St. Mary's Church in Hudson Falls.
Marilyn worked for many years as a bank teller at the 1st National Bank of Glens Falls, now TD Bank. Following her bank career, she worked for the Hallmark Store at exit 18 for over 10 years.
She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church and an avid reader. In her younger years she enjoyed making ceramics.
She loved to travel, especially to Yellowstone Park, Marilyn was always the trip photographer, capturing memories and landscapes. She was always prepared with multiple rolls of film.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, William Groh and her second husband, Edward Turner.
She is survived by her son, Randall Groh of Hudson Falls; her sister, Marlene Kretser of Rochester; a nephew, Edward Krester; and her niece, Kristy Drexel.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at the Carleton Funeral Home, 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church on the park in Hudson Falls.
The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
Memorial donations may be sent to a charity of one's choice.
