Mary Monty
April 7, 1942 - October 16, 2025
WHITEHALL - Mary Agnes Monty, 83 of Whitehall, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, surrounded by her family. Mary was born on April 7, 1942, at Rutland Regional Medical Center, the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary (Feenan) Stiles. She married Wayne E. Monty on May 13, 1962.
Mary was employed by Sherwood Medical in Argyle for 33 years; she retired in 2004. She loved to travel; her favorite spots were Hampton Beach and Puerto Rico. She loved being with her family, especially cooking for them; she is well known for her famous hot dog sauce and goulash. She loved sports, her favorite teams were New York Yankees, Washington Redskins and Notre Dame. She most enjoyed watching her grandchildren play; she was each of their biggest fans. From the football field, wrestling mat, baseball field, to track/field and the stage, she was always there.
Mary's faith was her foundation. She attended many parishes in the area, but her home church was Our Lady of Hope in Whitehall, N.Y. She honored people with greeting cards; she took such pride in picking out just the perfect one for each recipient for whatever occasion.
