Nancy G. Breeyear
Aug. 29, 1939 - Dec. 5, 2023
HUDSON FALLS – Nancy G. Breeyear, 84, of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
Born on August 29, 1939, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lawson and Aria (Coleman) Lord.
Nancy graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1957. While in school she was a proud majorette, a skill she enjoyed practicing for years after graduation. On November 28, 1959, she married Timothy "Tim" Breeyear at St. Mary's Church in Hudson Falls.
Those who knew Nancy remember her as many things, a devoted wife to her husband of 64 years, a loving mother to her five children, a doting grandmother and great-grandmother to her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They remember her as an avid ice skater in her youth, a wizard at crossword puzzles, and a talented poet, her dearest friends and family considered themselves very fortunate to receive one of her poems to highlight a special event. They remember her sharp wit and sense of humor, that her door was always open to anyone who wanted to "swing over", that she was the grandmother to greet you at the door with marshmallows and Smarties and walk you down the street to pick out a book at Grand Union.
The highlight of her summers was spending time with friends at camp on Hadlock Pond. Every afternoon she and Tim would enjoy taking a ride "twice around the lake" on their pontoon boat.
Nancy loved, and was loved by, many.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her brothers-in-law: Edward Breeyear and Bruce Inglee.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Tim Breeyear of Hudson Falls; her five children: Timothy Breeyear, Jr. and his wife, Amy of VA, Robyn McCormick and her husband, James of Queensbury, Tamara Saunders and her husband, Ronald of South Glens Falls, Daniel Breeyear and his wife, Renee of Fort Edward and William "Bill" Breeyear and his wife, Jennifer of South Glens Falls; her eight grandchildren: Daniel, Christina, Tony, Jillian, Morgan, Jacob, Hayley and Austin; four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Liam, Rowan and one baby boy on the way; her brothers: Thomas Lawson and his wife, Dona of MI, Marshall Lord of VA and Robert Lord of MI; her sisters and brother-in-law: Mary Elizabeth Inglee, William Breeyear and his wife, Claudia, Shirley Breeyear and Deborah Breeyear; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
