Patrick Ida Obituary

Patrick Joseph Ida

December 22, 1936 - June 29, 2025

MINEVILLE - Patrick Joseph Ida, of Mineville, N.Y., died Sunday, June 29th. He was born December 22, 1936, in Mineville, N.Y., the first son of the late Patrick M. and Vera (Thomas) Ida.

Pat graduated from Mineville High School. He served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1957 and after discharge from the service, he worked for the State of New York. Pat then worked at the International Paper Mill in Ticonderoga, N.Y., for many years, and was a member of the International Paper Quarter Century Society. After retiring as a supervisor from the mill, he worked at the Crown Point Fort as a historical interpreter.

On November 2, 1958, Pat and Blanche Hebert were married.

Pat enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Moriah area and spent many summers at his camp on Lincoln Pond. He and his sons built the camp over three years.

Never one to pass up a good meal, Pat hosted many family gatherings at his home with his wife. He was quick to clean up any leftovers on the grandkids' plates. Pat always had dessert, being especially fond of coconut cream and banana cream pies.

Pat was an organ donor, and the family anticipates the recipients of any of his organs being a little grumpier, wanting a cold beer, and feeling the urge to eat a quarter of a pie.

Pat was predeceased by his parents; his wife; brother, Lance Ida; and son, Christopher Ida.

Pat leaves behind a son, Patrick R. (Carolyn) Ida; daughter-in-law, Julie Ida; grandson, Keith Ida; and granddaughters, Lillith (Thomas) Roy and Samantha (Lucas Cutting) Ida; brother, Brent (MaryAnn) Ida; and sister-in-law, Arlene Ida. The family would like to express gratitude to Samantha Ida, Julie Ida, and niece, Diane Bauer, for their countless hours caring for Pat throughout the years.

Keeping with Pat's wishes, there will be no services.
