SILVER BAY - Blaine Earl Goding, 81, of Silver Bay, NY, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in Glens Falls, New York.

Blaine was born on April 8, 1944, in Lewiston, ME, the son of Clarence Wesley Goding and Katherine Rose (Pratt) Goding, both of whom predeceased him.

He attended Husson College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. He proudly served in the US Army Reserves (1966-1972) before beginning a long and accomplished professional career.

Blaine dedicated 38 years of service as a Controller with International Paper Company, working at mill locations across Maine, New York, and Louisiana. Following his retirement, he continued to share his expertise by assisting his daughter and son-in-law in their family business, Snug Harbor Marina, providing valuable guidance in finance and accounting.

An avid outdoorsman, Blaine found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods. He also enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Bear Pond (ME), which he built with his grandfather, golfing, woodworking, gardening, making maple syrup, genealogy, and, in his later years, storytelling-often sharing family history and cherished memories with warmth and humor. His love for the outdoors, learning, and family defined his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Priscilla Goding; his daughter, Pamela Palandrani, and her husband, Robert Palandrani, of Silver Bay, NY; his son, John Goding, and his wife, Toni Goding, of Bangor, ME; five grandchildren, Katherine Menon (MN), Kristen Palandrani (NY), Gabrielle Goding (ME), Michelle Jebb (NY) and Marissa Phinney (NY); and seven great-grandchildren, Daniel Jebb, Caroline Jebb, Anna Jebb, Emma Jebb, Bradley Phinney, Matthew Phinney, and Lauren Phinney. He was predeceased by his brother, Carson Goding.

A graveside ceremony followed by a Celebration of Life will be held in Turner, ME, in the spring/summer. Details will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Blaine's memory to a charity of one's choice.
