R. Flint Obituary

R. Marie Flint

August 11, 1937 - July 1, 2025

FORT ANN - It is with great sadness the family of Ruth "Marie" Flint, 87, announce her passing on July 1, 2025.

Born August 11, 1937, in Glens Falls. Marie as she preferred to be called, married Harry C. Flint on August 29, 1958.

Marie had a long career with the Department of Corrections, retiring from the Business Office at Great Meadow CF after 25 years. Marie always loved passing out paychecks to the CO's every other Wednesday.

She was the proud matriarch of a large Irish family, a job she took very seriously and one she prided herself on. With seven children, 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, she could often be found with several in tow, cheering them on at a game or recital. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and was known for her personalized Christmas ornaments that she created every year for the elementary students in classrooms with her grandchildren.

Marie could always be found with a needle or crochet hooks in hand, carrying her bag to games, she quickly learned as an ADK Red Wings season pass holder, that she should not be crocheting with pucks flying at her head. She was an avid reader and loved her romance novels. Marie enjoyed camping at Alpine Lake and Fourth Lake and spent many summers there with all of the kids. Other than chicken and dumplings, she passed on her inability to cook to her six daughters who learned quickly how to use a fire extinguisher. She loved babysitting the grands (addicting them to her peach water) or watching a soccer or hockey game on TV. Family dinners, card nights, and Christmas were some of her favorite times. She was always a source of comfort to her grandchildren and believed they did no wrong and would scold her children when they disagreed with her logic.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry C. Flint; her parents, Lee and Neva Lunt; her brother, Robert (Virginia) Lunt; her mother and father-in-law, Mildred and Harry Flint; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Flint; her daughter, Patricia Greene; her son-in-law, William White; and her beloved grandson, Mychael A. Flint, who she couldn't wait to be with once again.

Survivors include her children, Pamela White, Sandy (Reggie) Heath, Kelly (Ray) Hoard, Harry (Stephanie) Flint, Kim (John) Winchell and Amy (Bob) Pecue; her grandchildren, Nicole (Eric) Eisenschmidt, Alpha (Randi) White, James Greene, Jeffrey (Calynn) Greene, Melissa (Ed) Moore, Krista (Nick) Smith, Ashley (Tad) Fiore, Erica (Tyler) Veglia, Megan (Kaleb) Radford, Dan (Luiz) Sharp Forte, Ryan (Heather) Sharp, Steven Sharp, Nicholette and Alidia Hoard, Christopher (Laura) Winchell, Keri Amend, and Kaitlyn (Collin) Stipe; her great-grandchildren, Riley, Aidan, Sheridan, Justin, Sarah, Kristin, Jaxin, Eastin, Zaydin, Melina, Kendra, Kaleb, Paige, Tyler, Olivia, Hannah, Jason, Ava, Emma, Jonathan, Nolan, Cole, Jude, Austin, Mason, Brayden, Brooklyn, Rhea, Rolan, Enzleighana, Quinn and Blaire.

Marie is also survived by her brothers, William (Nancy) Lunt, Neil (Judy) Lunt; and several great nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 9, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Carlton Funeral Home, 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m., immediately following calling hours at the funeral home. A private burial will follow.
