Richard "Dick" Joseph Sullivan , 81, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born on April 8, 1944, in Glens Falls, N.Y., the second son of Joseph F. and Elizabeth (Layden) Sullivan of the Glen Lake Sullivans.

Dick graduated with the St. Mary's Academy class of 1962, left his job at Grand Union on Ridge Street and enlisted in the US Air Force on August 12, 1962. Following an honorable discharge in 1966, he started his career with AT&T in Rosendale, N.Y. His 36 and a half year career from 1966-2003 spanned the name changes of AT&T, New York Telephone, Nynex, Bell Atlantic and Verizon, and he held title as Secretary/Treasurer of CWA Local 1127 from 1989 to 2000. Following five years of Verizon retirement, he started his second career of 10 years as the marine engineer for the Lake George Steamboat Company on the Mohican, again returning to retirement in 2017, on the bicentennial of the company.

Dick's survivors include his wife of 56 years, Claire (Galloway) Sullivan; his two daughters, Anne Marie (David) Soltis of Queensbury, N.Y., Kristine (Marc) Nailor of Concord, N.H., and seven remaining siblings. As a proud grandfather, surviving him are the loves of his life, Ryann Marie Soltis, Jillian Marie Nailor, Brooke Elisabeth Nailor as well as his 2nd Mr. Fix It of the family, Drew Michael Nailor. Being part of the Sullivans of Glen Lake, the Sullivan Dairy Clan of Hudson Falls and the Hudson Falls Sullivans, he leaves a survivorship too numerous to list.
