Eileen, Michael, David, and your families,
I am so sorry to read of your Dad's passing. I know that he is with Paul enjoying a Sambuca and laughing about so many good times they shared with your Mom and me. Tournaments, matches, birthday parties, dinners together, wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.
Share all of your memories with each other, and everyone you know. He was a very special friend and I am sending hugs to you all.
Love you all.

Dear Coach Carty,
We first met, when I was a 3rd grader at Broad St School! You were the most handsomest red headed Gym Teacher Ever! The soft, but strong man you were gave me great pride in having you in my life. You always supported every student male or female, they can go on to achieve anything they put their minds to and to be proud of themselves to just try. As you would say to me "Your a winner if you just try!" I was entrusted to babysit your children when I was in Jr High and went on to keep score for your GF Wrestling team. Which you always encourage me to be confident in myself and strong! The values you taught me as a young person growing up are still instilled in me today, as an adult! You'll be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Thank you Coach Carty for believing in me, Love Dearly Jodie Varmette

I have great memories of "Mr. Carty" from my elementary days at Sanford Street School in the 60's. He was always very kind, understanding and taught with great patience. We looked up to him with great admiration and respect. Fast forward 55 years later, I met Mr. Carty at Glens Falls City Hall. We shared some common memories of Sanford Street School, in particular of Miss Dane the Principal. Bob (asked me to call him by his first name) said that he was grateful for the memory and laughs we shared that day. I too was very grateful and humbled to see the man I respected so much.
Thank you Bob, truly a blessing.

Bob Carty, changed my life. I was a 5th grade student at Sanford Street school. I was quiet and withdrawn, and felt I didn´t fit in. Mr Carty, spent time with me, encouraged me, and helped build up my self esteem. He made a great difference in my life, and I ended up as Most Improved athlete. People come and go into your life, Bob Carty changed mine, and I am sure many others. My deepest sympathy for his family and friends for his loss.

Bob Carty was a good man, and an excellent coach. He always took a" calm educational" approach to his coaching, which was unique back in a time that most coaching was done with a "emotional bent". Never raising his voice and actually taking notes during matches, which he always shared with us after the matches. In the relatively short time that I knew him,(high school days) he had a lasting positive impression upon me. For this, I am grateful.
