Robert Eckman Obituary
Robert was born in Oswego, N.Y., on May 20, 1946, to John and Mercedes (Cranston) Eckman.
He graduated from South Glens Falls High School and worked for many years at Finch and Pruyn. He was a past captain of the Moreau Emergency Squad, a longtime member of the South Glens Falls Fire Department and a past member of the South Glens Falls Eagles AERIE No. 2486. He and his family were members of the Church of the Messiah.
He was predeceased by his father.
Survivors include his mother, Mercedes Eckman of South Glens Falls; his cousin, Ed Parliman and his wife, Betty, of Garnerville and his neighbor, Tracy Suttle, of South Glens Falls.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at the
M. B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St., South Glens Falls. E-mail condolences may be sent to www.kilmers.com.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Harding, rector at the Church of the Messiah, 296 Glen Street, officiating.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Wallkill Cemetery, Wallkill, N.Y.
In Robert's memory, donations may be made to Moreau Emergency Squad, Inc., 1583 state Route 9, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

I was sorry to hear of your loss. Bob and I were close friends in high school but had lost contact over the past several years. You and he are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. Eckman and Family,
I was very sorry to hear of your loss. Bobby was a dear friend of my uncle, Harry Betar, and to both the Betar and Napolitano families. Please know you are in our thoughts. I would also like you to know that now I too am a teacher, and I am passing on the wisdom and knowledge you provided to me as my kindergarten teacher. The impact of each life is far and wide.
Bobby's friendship will always be remembered.

Mrs Eckman & Family,
I was very sorry to hear of Bob's death. He was certainly good to me when I needed a place to store my Grandfather's 1972 Chevelle. We shared some laughs and stories about Ambulance and Fire calls, at his home and at the Eagles Club. I will always remember him driving the Old Mack Firetruck # 9; as he was frequently the first Firemen to arrive at the firehouse for an alarm. We did loose touch over the past couple of years with my work and family but he was certainly my friend and I hope he rests in peace.
