Robert L. Norton Sr.

GLENS FALLS Robert L. Norton Sr., 71, of Broad Street, Glens Falls, passed away Friday, June 20, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his family. Born April 22, 1937 in Brant Lake, he was the son of the late Levi Norton and Gladys (Lethrop) Norton Scoville. After Bob's honorable discharge from the United States Marines, he worked most of his life as a television repairman. His enjoyments included flying lessons, hunting and working with ceramics. He also loved playing his guitar and jamming with his friends. He was a former member of the South Glens Falls and Saratoga Eagles Clubs, and also of the Greenwich B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge No. 2223. Besides his parents, one brother-in-law, George Brandt, has predeceased Bob. Survivors include his two daughters, Deborah Lloyd (Bill Tretiak) of Corinth, and Bobbi Siska (Garry Robinson) of Schuylerville; one son, Robert Lee Norton Jr. of Glens Falls; eight grandchildren, Stacey Lloyd of Wilton, Andrea and Erin Lloyd of Corinth, Laura and Leah Siska of Schuylerville, Michael Siska of Corinth, Joshua and Adam Norton of Saratoga Springs; three sisters, Gloria Brandt of Liverpool, Ann Gaffner and her husband, Robert, of Illinois, and Mary Fuller of Glens Falls; the mother of his children, Mary Warner of Malone; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call upon the family Monday, June 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. A memorial service will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Harding, pastor of Glens Falls Church of The Messiah, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, donations, in memory of Bob, may be made to High Peaks Hospice, 667 Bay Road, Suite 1, Queensbury, NY 12804. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and staff at Glens Falls and Saratoga hospitals; a special thank you to Dr. DelGiacco, Dr. Blood and to High Peaks Hospice who took active involvement in comforting them and Bob during his illness.
