Robert B. Ramey, 80, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, following a long fight with cancer.

Bob was born on September 20, 1945, to Leon and Geraldine (Horton) Ramey in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was raised in Low Hampton, NY and graduated from Whitehall High School in 1963.

From there, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy, was discharged in 1966, and shortly thereafter obtained an Associates in Drafting.

Bob worked for many years as a mechanical designer for AES, and left there to start his own business, Mockingbird Hill Design. Bob was also a very talented woodworker, and started Ramey's Woodworking, which he owned and operated for several years.

In 1968, Bob married Donna Costantino, his wife of 44 years, and later had one daughter.

Bob was an avid reader his entire life. He enjoyed his big yard and his tractor, mowing in the summertime, and the occasional garden. Until recently, he could have been found sitting at the counter of the Big Apple Diner just about every morning, hanging out with his friends and acquaintances, and most likely buying someone breakfast. But most of all, Bob was a family man, and was always there for them, especially his 2 granddaughters.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Donna, in 2012, brothers Gary Ramey, Brian Ramey and Lee (Dean) Ramey, and a sister, Diana Ramey Failing Hopf just six-weeks ago.

His survivors include his daughter Lee Ramey, his granddaughters Rowan and Rebeccah Jones, a son-in-law, David Piscatello, and brothers Jon Ramey and Ross Ramey, as well as several nieces, nephews.

Services for Bob will be private and at the convenience of the family, under the care of the Jillson Funeral Home Inc.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Legion Post No. 83, 148 Main St., Whitehall, NY 12887
