Salvatore Leombruno Obituary

HUDSON FALLS * Salvatore J. Leombruno II, 47, of Hinds Road, passed away unexpectedly on Palm Sunday, April 9, 2006.

Born on Nov. 16, 1958, in Hudson Falls, he was the son of Salvatore J. Leombruno, I and the late Johanne (Shields) Leombruno.

Sal worked for many years at General Electric Company in Fort Edward before moving on into the construction field. He eventually got his D.B.A. and started Kingsbury Construction.

Sal enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country from 1991 to 1994. He later re-enlisted into the Air National Guard out of Albany and Fort Drum. He was honorably discharged in 2000, as a sergeant.

Sal also loved his music. He was a well known drummer. Sal started, joined or even just jammed with area bands like, Adiradical Blue, Crying Shamz and many, many more. Music was a large part of his life, no matter if it was guitars to bongo's. Sal played with many talented musicians from all over upstate New York. Along with his music, his children were also a large part of his life.

Sal was an inspiration to all that knew him, from his brothers in the Jury to his whole entire family.

He was also a Hudson River Guide for many years and loved hunting and fishing with his kids and was just fun to be around.

Sal not only did we loose a brother and friend, we lost a great drummer that will never past through here again. Your pain was our pain brother, from beginning to end, we all hope to see you, mom and Ashley once again, we will always love and miss you, Sal, your family.

Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his niece, Ashley Leombruno.

Survivors include his father, Salvatore J. Leombruno I. of Hudson Falls; he leaves behind his three beautiful children, Vinchenzo Joseph Leombruno of Kingsbury, Mikayla Leombruno of Argyle and Salvatore Leombruno III of Kingsbury; his ten siblings, Sally Leombruno of North Carolina, Michele Leombruno and her husband, Edward Smith, of Virginia, Gina Leombruno Rouse and her husband, John, of Hudson Falls, Chris Leombruno of Nevada, Andrew Leombruno and his wife, Rodonna, of Hudson Falls, Mary-Kay Wood and her companion, Jeff Kill, of Kingsbury, Danielle Leombruno-Hillis and her companion, Jason Haxstun, of Kingsbury, Anthony Leombruno and his fianceé, Cherie Sipowicz, of Kingsbury, Amy Bingham and her husband, William, of Gansevoort and Nicole Haines and her husband, Andrew, of South Glens Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including his special niece, Adrianne Potvin and her daughter "Nevaeh Angel" Potvin.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday at Saint Mary's/Saint Paul's Church on the park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

"Singin' Sal", You'll be missed, my brother. Remember when you told me to float down the Hudson next to our whitewater raft in my wet-suit in the cold River? Remember you told me not to worry...that you'd be looking after me? Well, now you're being looked after...and by a far higher power. I remember all the Great Fun we had together: Several Indian & Hudson River trips, "Jammin'" together with you at the "High Rock Steakhouse"...and then later at your wedding. Our condolences to the entire Leombruno family...and to all those whose lives were touched by Sal (and I know that was many!) God Bless you, Sal. You'll be sorely missed.

Uncle Sal, I'm at a loss for words. I can't seem to sum it all up. I keep going through all these memories and thoughts in my head and it all seems so confusing. I can only hope that you've found the peace you were longing for. I love you very much. Love, Jessie

My brother, I remember our first talks as you turned into a teenager and needed to learn about the "birds and the bees" ha,ha. I remember a wild ride down the river and our ski trips with our "race car driver" dad. I will deperately miss not having future memories. I will look forward to meeting you again in our next life because I cannot imagine God would take you away from me forever. Please heal and rest with God, later my brother. Love Sally-anne

Into The West

I lay my head down to listen to the peace and serenity.I hear the voices of those before me,Calling from a distant shore. My fears fade away into the darkness of the night. The moon rises, casting a silvery glow upon the sea.A ship has arrived to take you home across the great divide.Your soul has passed into the shadows, out of time and into our memory.I will not feel fear for your time has not ended but has come to begin again. We will remember you, your dreams and desires. We shall, one day meet once more. Those distant white shores have beckoned you home into the west.

This is for you Sal,Not only my friend but my brother~Cricket

My heart goes out to you with the news of you all losing Sal. I will always remember that big smile & laugh of his,(even though I hadn't seen him in quite a few years)!
