Sandra Lee (Manell) Darius

SPRING HILL, FL/GRANVILLE, NY - Sandra Lee (Manell) Darius of Spring Hill, FL and Granville, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her on Saturday, June 1, 2024 after a brief illness. She was 77 years old.
Born on November 6, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Gerald L. and Beulah (Shurtleff) Manell of Whitehall, NY. She graduated in 1964 from Whitehall High School, and a few years later met the love of her life Michael R. Darius. They were married in 1968 and settled and started their family in Granville, NY.
Sandie held many jobs over the years which included working as a catalog model, county dietician, owning a bar/restaurant and her last career she retired from a developmental aide for NYS OMRDD. In 2006, she retired to Florida with her husband where she enjoyed ceramics, diamond painting, bingo and taking the occasional cruise.
Sandie is survived by her daughter, Deb de Montozon of Greenwich, NY; her son, Michael C. Darius II of Weeki Wachee, FL; her grandchildren: Madison Darius (Chandler Bermea), Skylar de Montozon and Joanie Lee Darius; along with her sister-in-law, Marcia Collins and her husband, Steve Collins; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, of 56 years, Mick, who passed away just eight months ago in October of 2023, her parents, an infant sister, Jacqueline, her brother, Gerald Manell, nephew, Jerry Lee Manell, niece, Diane Skeels and son-in-law, James de Montozon.
There will be an Interment ceremony at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY, for both Sandie and Mick, at a later date to be determined by family.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter in honor of Sandie.
