Arlene Logan Obituary

Our beloved Meme- Arlene "Lee" Logan met her Master face to face on June 5, 2023, after a long battle with various health issues. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Covenant Church in Poteau, OK. Family visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 6p-8p at Evans & Miller Funeral home in Poteau, OK.
Meme was born to Marion Lemuel Lee "Bud" and Nora Mae Lee on December 21, 1937, in Clarita, OK. She attended Tupelo High School and was the Salutatorian of her graduating class. During her school years she played softball, but her love of basketball allowed her to excel as a star on the basketball team. She was known as a "brilliant hook-shot artist" leading the team in scoring. After graduating, she was chosen to play basketball for the 1st Women's professional basketball team called the "The Professional Redheads" but instead she chose to marry the love of her life, Don Logan. They were married on September 20, 1958. They had two children: Mike and LeAnn.
She loved her church (Covenant Church of Poteau, OK). She led the Intercessor's prayer group for many years. She was a prayer warrior for all in need. She loved her pastors (Pastor Keith and Sister Cathy) and covered them in prayer continually. She loved missions and always wanted to be a missionary. Last but not least, she loved people. She poured the love of Jesus into anyone around her and because of that commitment, she became a safe place for broken hearts and hurting souls. She wanted you to know the Love of the Savior and knew no boundary of age, creed, or status. She knew that everyone needed Jesus and because of that, thousands of lives were changed. She knew the Word and she longed to Worship Him and be in His presence. Her greatest desire is now her eternal pleasure.
When Meme wasn't serving her church, she was serving her family. She was witty, loving, and enjoyed puzzles and playing Wahoo or Dominoes. Her love for sports ran deep and she kept up with her teams which included OU football, OU softball, and the Dallas Cowboys. She was also known to follow playoffs, March Madness, and the CWS (even when she was in the hospital).
Meme Logan joins her sweet husband Don Logan, son Michael Logan, her parents, her brothers James and "Denny", and her sister Gloria June in Heaven. She is survived by daughter LeAnn Trussell and Husband Mark; Daughter-in-Law Wendy Logan; 8 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Lee as well as a host of other family, loved ones and friends.
