Alex J. Hartzell

1992 - 2016

Alex J. Hartzell, age 24, of East Coventry, PA, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 26, 2016. Born on February 7, 1992 in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Stacie Shrader and Shell Shrader of Pottstown. Alex was a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School. He loved music and playing the guitar. Alex is survived by five sisters, Ashley, Gabi, Jamie, Izzy, and Eva; his God-Mothers, Joanna Belfie and Jenn Simmons; two aunts, Susan, wife of John Slotter and Cindy Emlet; and four cousins, Joe, Megan, Cade, and Aleah. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Myron and Shirley Hartzell, and his beloved cousin, Jacquelyn Slotter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Cedarville United Methodist Church, 1092 Laurelwood Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 3:00 PM. Officiating will be the Rev. Sherry L. Lantz. Friends will be received from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, 135-137 W. Market Street, West Chester, PA 19382.
