Anthony Grejdus Obituary

Anthony Francis Grejdus, 76, of Phoenixville, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, July 3, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his wife of 57 years, Marcia (Flanagan), daughters Katherine Riley, wife of James of Cape Cod, MA, Patricia Saville wife of Garry of Phoenixville, PA, and son Garrett Grejdus and wife Diane also of Phoenixville, PA, and his five grandchildren Garrett Grejdus, Katelyn Grejdus, Benjamin Grejdus, Allyson Saville, and James Riley.
Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Grejdus. One of eight children, he is predeceased by his brother, Zigmund, and his sisters, Tessie and Laura. He is survived by his sister, Stephanie Kaminski and his brothers Charles, Joseph, and Bernard Grejdus.
Anthony was employed as a supervisor of printing and cutting at Container Corp. of America in Oaks, PA for 40 years, and retired in 1993.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He especially enjoyed archery season in Sullivan County, staying at the Bow Buck Lodge. In addition he served as the president of the Senior Bowling League at Phoenix Lanes. More recently he enjoyed playing golf at local golf courses with his friends.
Pop-Pop could be found at any of the local sporting events watching his grandchildren playing baseball, basketball, softball, hockey and soccer. He rarely missed a game. In addition, he and Marcia made many trips to Cape Cod to watch the many musical performances of their grandson, James.
Tony was a Charter Member of the Polish American Citizens Club, a member of the NRA, and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church Council which he served for many years.
One of his great joys was vacationing with his children and grandchildren in Cooperstown, NY, Ocean City, MD, and Cape Cod, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 219 Dayton St., Phoenixville, on Saturday, July 7, at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 to 10:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Mary's Franciscan Shelter, 209 Emmett St., Phoenixville, PA 19460.

I knew Tony since I became a member of the Monday Senior League. He was such a pleasant man, great sense of humor and a very capable leader of our league. We will miss him. I'm glad I knew him. Helen Martin
