Dennis Irey Obituary

Dennis O. Irey, 78, of Gilbertsville, died June 17, 2021 at Southeastern Veterans Center, Spring City, PA after battling Alzheimer’s/dementia for several years. Born, March 29, 1943, in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Olin S. Irey, Robert McCullough (Stepfather) and Mae (Overdorf) McCullough. Dennis attended West Chester University before dropping out and enlisting in the Army. Following his service, he went on to become a remarkable carpenter. He was an outstanding father who loved spending time with his family, taking bike rides, spending time in the woods hunting the “elusive whitetail” or simply spending time in the mountains at the hunting cabin. Surviving is his wife Donna K. Irey of Gilbertsville, PA; son Jason M. Irey, daughter-in-law Sarah E. Irey of Lansdale; and 2 grandchildren Mira L. Irey and Jameson R. Irey Also surviving is his sister, Diane Lambert of Aston, PA and brother, Barry Irey of Boyertown, PA At Dennis’ request, there will be no service. He will be cremated, and his ashes spread in the woods he loved to walk. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
