We remember Elmer fondly from visiting with him and Daisy at Parkhouse. Our Mother/Mother-in-law, Agnes Crawford, was a resident there also and we met Elmer and Daisy in the dining room and had many pleasant conversations with them. We greatly remember Elmer's love of sports and particulary Penn State Football and Joe Paterno!

He was a Jolly Good Fellow and remembered Kenneth William Bright, my Dad when he worked at Shop6 at the Phoenixville Iron and Steel Company back in the early 60's. We would always sing Ajolly Good Fellow on the bus to him when the time was right. We all loved him.

We continue to remember Elmer and how kind and caring his family was to Agnes Crawford's family at Parkhouse. How quickly time passes - Maddie danced for Agnes and brightened Agnes' days - and now she is a Penn State student! The bond between the Custers and Crawfords continues on, with many happy memories.

I am so sorry for your loss. I use to be your neighbor on Longford Road. I remember Elmer as our bus driver for many years driving us to school. He was a Happy Person. I have many memories of the Custer family. I am the oldest of the Bright Family , Debbie Bright who rode her bicycle all around the neighborhood and who would buy eggs and cider at Spieth's house. He is a friend to me for life he will not be fogotten and as for the Custer Family please accept my deepest sympathy. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. For He is a Jolly Good Fellow such as we sang on the bus at times. Kenneth and Mae moved to Birdsboro, Pa. I married Wesley D. Pierce, moved all around and now in Houston, Texas. My sisters, some in Pa., and Athens, Greece. From Phoenixville, Pa./now Houston, Texas near Katy.
