Frederick Himes Obituary

FREDERICK L. HIMES, SR., 76, OF SPRING MOUNT Frederick L. Himes, Sr., 76, a resident of Spring Mount for over 50 years, passed away at his residence on November 17, 2013. He and his wife, Carole (Jeffers) Himes, observed their 53rd wedding anniversary on May 14th of this year. Born January 14, 1937 in Conshohocken, he was a son of the late Elmer and Sara (Lukens) Himes. He was employed as a steel worker with Alan Wood Steel, Lukens Steel, and Bethlehem Steel. Along with his wife, he also operated Fred & Carole Himes Towing of Spring Mount for over 30 years. An avid hunter, Mr. Himes was a charter member of the Dutchman Rod & Gun Club of Tioga Co. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Lynn Himes and her partner, Lucky Kraemer, of Perkiomenville, John Himes and his wife, Heather, of Boyertown, and Patricia Specht and her husband, Matthew, of Walnuttown, and Michael Himes and his wife, Theresa, of Warren; a brother, Elmer Himes, Jr. of Florida; 16 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Frederick L. Himes, Jr.; brothers, Walter and Edward Himes; and sisters, Emily, Ellen, Hazel, Mary, and Florence; and a granddaughter, Madelyn. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike @ Cedars Rd., Skippack, where friends may call for the viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m.. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park. For those desiring, contributions may be made in his memory to Deborah Heart & Lung Center, 200 Trenton Rd., Browns Mills, NJ 08015, or to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 34th & Civic Center Blvd., Phila.
