Jim, Tom and Families, My deepest sympathy to all of you from the bottom of my heart. Six weeks ago I lost my mother to what sounds like almost the same symptoms. I know he was a strong man and respected throughout the community. Please accept my sincerest sympathy and know I will be praying along with you on Friday morning.

To put into words what Jack meant to his family, his community, his running club, and his friends seems impossible. Jack was an encourager of all that he met. He was a great friend and will be greatly missed. I remember so many great times spent with Jack from the trips to Utica for the Boilermaker to parking lot post-race celebrations at the Philly distance Run (a race he truly loved!). I remember coffee chats in the kitchen on Timber Lane and car rides to the Shiver Series in Reading. I also remember fondly the Circle of Progress runs that Jack loved and hosted so well. His love of running is shown in his running sons and his teammates like Carl and Kent. He was always a supporter of my brother and me and our various race director jobs. Speed may not have been always on Jack's side, but perserverance was. He believed that the race may not always go to the fastest--but to those who chug, chug, chug up those menacing hills on the what i've called the "Jack Meade 13 miler."

To Diane and the family, we are praying for you all. God had a new member of the Heavenly Running Club and his name is Jack Meade.

A true gentleman, Jack was never ostentatious. Rather, he was marked by courtesy and modesty.
I remember well the first time he came to efm. Never having met him and based solely upon appearance, I thought he was an efm dealer. Little did I know.

Over the years at efm, our paths would cross several times a year and it was always good to meet again. Jack was a good role model as an employer and family man and he will surely be missed.

I extend my condolences to the extended Meade family, Mrs. Meade and Joe. A good man has passed on.

My sympathy and prayers go out to the Meade family along with a little poem.

God saw you getting tired and cure was not to be. So he put his arm around you, and wispered "Come To Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. And though we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, that he only takes the best.

God Bless

I miss you so much Jack. I know you'll be looking down on us... with that wondeful smile!
