Marcus (and Sally) lived in Washington, NC for a few years in the early 90's. We became friends, I thought he was the coolest person I had ever met. He and I would sit on his back porch and smoke these God-awful cigarettes that he'd bring back from Greece. I thought I'd pass-out after each puff. I miss out talks and his view of the world.
I have a painting in my house that I always smile at in passing, as well as a few of his art books, poems, and Sally's book.
I hope I can always hold on to these memories of Marcus and Sally. They were precious people when I knew them, I'm sure they still are. I love you guys.

Marcus and I were roommates at RISD for many a year, including 2 burnt out lofts above an abandon textile store
He accompanied me and witnessed the open casket burial of my first and only love 50 years ago, Normabel Lee. He remarked, " I never saw anyones heart drop out on to the floor as yours did when you looked down upon her face".
We both witnessed many other significant events together that impacted our
lives, I still have one of the three pieces of art i got from him. See u soon

True artists are a rarity nowadays. Through the many ups and downs, and bouts of illness over the years, Marc never ceased his work and remained an inspiration to all who knew him - and a total original in all the various media he employed.
Hey Marky Marky - see you soon, so get the fish fingers ready. Love and admiration - as ever x
