Dear Paula, Stephen, Cynthia, Lisa, and Andrew,
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was one of my mother's oldest and dearest friends, marked by the fact that I bear her name. I've always been proud to have been named for such a kind, compassionate, loving woman and I have many fond memories of times spent with her and your family.

You may not be aware of the considerable impact that Aunt Margie and Paula had on my life. In high school, I was an instructor in the swim program that our mothers started, for individuals with developmental disabilities. That experience led me to a very fulfilling career in special education which I retired from, as the director of a large public school program serving children with Autism.

I'm sorry that my mother wasn't able to provide the loving end of life support that Aunt Margie gave her. Mom was very grateful for her life long friendship.

Sadly, I won't be able to attend Aunt Margie's services as I'll be leaving the country on Wednesday. Please accept my condolences and take comfort in the fact that hers was a life well-lived.
Sincerely,
Margie Strom DeRenzis
