Dr. Marshall Harris Sager

Marshall Sager Obituary

Dr. Marshall Harris Sager, 83, died November 4, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, from complications related to Parkinson’s Disease. Born November 2, 1938, he was the oldest child of the late Louis and Sarah (Portner) Sager. After graduating from Pottstown High School, Dr. Sager attended Lehigh University and served in the United States Marines before studying medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathy. He established a primary care practice in Pottstown in 1969. In 1992, Dr. Sager moved to Bryn Mawr and opened a practice in Bala Cynwyd devoted to acupuncture. He retired to Atlantic City in 2019. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Rosemarie (Averna) Sager to whom he was married for 23 years. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Kaufman) Sager to whom he was married for 29 years; his son, Todd (Greta) Sager, Glenside, Pennsylvania; his daughter, Rachel Sager, Yonkers, New York; and his grandchild, Nina Sager. He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence (Phyllis) Sager, Pottstown, PA; sister Marcia (Bruce) Balter, Weston, MA and Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sister Lesley (William) Levine, Belmont, MA and Pompano Beach, FL and 8 nephews. The family suggests a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation, PO Box 6003, Albert Lea, MN 56007-9902 in memory of Dr. Sager.
