Shirley Haring Obituary

Shirley A. Haring, 70, of Pottstown
Shirley A. (Nester) Haring, 70, of Pottstown, wife of Barry I. Haring, passed away on Sunday at Keystone Villa in Douglassville.
Born in Pottstown on Dec. 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon and Edna (Conrad) Nester.
Shirley dearly loved her husband of 53 years. She enjoyed meeting with friends every morning for coffee, loved driving her convertible and shopping with her friend Gail. Her favorite place was the ocean and she could be found tanning on the beach during the summer time. She worked at Fashion Colony and Market America Distributors but was best known for waiting on customers at the Burger King Drive Thru on High Street. She volunteered and helped raise funds for the Pottstown Symphony Orchestra and the Heart Association. She loved having fun with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking care of her flower beds and was known for putting spinning wheels in the pots outside. Shirley had a zest for life, liked to have fun, and always had a smile on her face. She will be sadly missed by many friends and family members and always remembered.
Surviving with her husband are sons Barry C. Haring, husband of Lisa B. and three children, and Jeffrey S. Haring, husband of Lisa and their two grandchildren; sisters Betty Repco and Nancy Yoder and son in law Kurt Elliott and his two children. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Denise Elliott.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, 7:30 p.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, with Rev. Peter Goguts officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Shirley's name to Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Barry,
I am so sorry to hear about Shirley's passing. I always enjoyed seeing you all at Einstein Bagel's and miss our get togethers. Shirley was always so perky and happy every single morning. She always made me chuckle before heading off to work for the day. She will be deeply missed. Much love to you and your family. Peggy Lewis

Barry, I was saddened to learn of the passing of Shirley. Do you remember me ? Buddy Sell. My memories of Shirley go way back to the 50's when we were neighbors. We would chat across the fence while I was digging in the garden. We attended the same confirmation class one year at St James. You used to drive us to school sometimes. I remember Shirley as a very happy teenager and will always be glad that I knew her in her early years. God bless you and your family.
