Stephen Bruce Korbel, 66, of Weirton, WV passed away Thursday March 23, 2017 at home. He was born July 24, 1950 in Pottstown, PA. He was the son of Jean Stouch Korbel of Pottstown, PA and the late Joseph Korbel. Stephen was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church; a US Navy veteran/Vietnam War/USS Oriskany; an avid traveler and reader of Louis Lamour books. He enjoyed ice skating, tennis, and scuba diving. He was a devoted husband and father. Stephen retired from Cabot Super Metals, Boyertown, PA. He had also been formerly employed at Cann and Saul Steel Company, Royersford, PA. Surviving are his wife, Karen Kobily Korbel; daughters, Jenna Jaskolka (John), Savanna Korbel, all of Weirton, WV; son, Eric Korbel (Lakyn) of East Greenville, PA; sisters, Angeline Lauer (Rudy), Lizabeth Wagenhurst, Susan Phillips; brother; Joseph Korbel (Jean); mother-in-law, Kathryn Gillen Kobily (late Edward) of Weirton, WV. A celebration of life will be held Monday March 27, 2017 9:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV. A memorial Mass will be held Monday at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 200 Preston Avenue, Weirton, WV with Reverend Tony Thurston as celebrant.
