I didn't know Steven but I knew kate briefly but in the short time I knew her I knew she was an exceptional young lady, someone who loved the Lord and was passionate about life and everyone she met. Stephen had to be an exceptional young man to have won Kates heart. Its hard to except the loss of young people but we know all things are in Gods plan and there is a reason he chose to take Stephen and Kate together, maybe because he knew they could not live without the other so now they are rejoicing in Heaven together, and one day we will be reunited with them. Your family are in my prayers.

Dear Parson Family: I am Specialist Jared Dorsey's mother and so wish to reach out to each of you. Jared and Stephen were so close and shared a magnificent bond. When Jared called to tell me of the loss of Stephen, he was sobbing so hard it took 3 phone calls for me to understand him. Jared is shattered by the loss of your amazing Stephen. As a mother, I have no words except to pray for God's peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you for the gift of Stephen to the world and to my son. Jared said your son was " the perfect soldier, the perfect friend, and the perfect boyfriend to the love of his life." I am honored that my son had your son in his life. I met your boy when they first became soldiers. What an awesome guy! Mother to mother, I hold you in my heart. I have cried tears for your son and am certain we will be crying more when I see my son next week. Sending you our love from the Dorsey family: Anne and the kids: Jared, Julian, Jada, and Jasmine.
