Alice Pavelock Obituary
Beacon - Alice C. Pavelock (Hupcey), a lifelong Beacon resident, passed away Monday July 6, 2015 in Burlington, Vermont, surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years old.
Born in Beacon, July 10, 1933, she was the daughter of John Hupcey and Alice Meyers Hupcey. She married Andrew P. Pavelock on July 14, 1956 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon. Andrew entered into the gates of Heaven July 1, 2008.
Alice attended Beacon schools. She was a dedicated homemaker while her children were young. She was employed by Tioranda Nursery School and Vogel Pharmacy. Alice was a parishioner at St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon. She was also a member of the St. Joachim-St. John Women's Club, Beacon Historical Society and Verplanck Garden Club. "Gram" will be remembered for her devotion to her grandchildren. She loved her dogs, ice cream and to fill her birdfeeders daily. Alice loved to travel with her friends. She also enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey shore with her family every summer.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Susan Stephens and her husband, Carlton, Ballston Spa, NY, Luann Dough and her husband Craig, Crawfordville, FL, and Kristen Pavelock and her husband, Kyle Sowles, Colchester, VT; six grandchildren, Craig (Joanne) and Sarah Stephens, Jessica Hardy, Eleanor and Abigail Sowles, and Mason Dough; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Joan Owen and Janet Hupcey and her granddaughter, Emily Hardy.
Visiting hours will be on Friday, July 10 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John the Evangelist Church on July 10 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joachim Cemetery, 303 Washington Ave, Beacon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), PO Box 1129 Beacon, NY 12508.
