Charles Pardee Obituary
Hyde Park - Charles L. Pardee, Jr., 81, a lifelong area resident, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Renaissance Rehab and Nursing Center in Hyde Park.
Born on September 2, 1935 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Charles L. Pardee, Sr. and Jennie Ostrander Pardee.
Charles proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He was a cook at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center for 33 years until his retirement in 1990.
Charles was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association and was a 57 year member of American Legion John Livingstone Post #1466.
On January 6, 1957 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Poughkeepsie, he married the former Georgianna McNeil. Mrs. Pardee survives at home in Hyde Park.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by son, Charles Pardee, and his wife, Dawn, of Hyde Park; son, Jeffrey Pardee, and his wife, Sally, of Hyde Park; five grandchildren: Zachary, Katrina, Kayla, Maygin, and Travis; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 4-7pm on Monday, May 8th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park.
Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, May 9th at the Funeral Home. Father Chuck Kramer will be officiating.
For those who wish, Charles' family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to St. James' Episcopal Church, 4525 Albany Post Rd. Hyde Park, NY 12538 (www.stjameshydepark.org).
