Christopher Watkins Obituary
Dover Plains - Christopher Thomas Watkins, 30, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, NY died on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. Chris worked until very recently as a Prep Cook at Charlotte's Restaurant in Millbrook, NY.
Born on June 10, 1986 in Poughkeepsie, NY he was the son of Janice (McGill) Acken and her husband, Edwin, of Dover Plains, NY and Joseph Watkins of Dover Plains, NY. Chris graduated Dover High School class of 2004.
In addition to his parents and step-father, Chris is survived by his paternal grandmother, Anne Watkins of Poughquag, NY; his aunts, Doretta Tate of Dover Plains, Mary Casale of Poughkeepsie, Aleta Volkman of Homosassa, FL and Patricia Pippa of Poughquag, NY; his uncles, James (Marge) McGill of Selma, NC and Thomas (Sherry) Watkins of Lagrange, NY. He is also survived by his cousins, Jacey Volkman, Marianne (Stephen) Questle, Keith Moore, Robert (Rebecca) Smith, Tim (Leslie) Smith, Lorrinda and Amanda McGill, Jay (Robin) McGill and Randy Pippa. Chris was predeceased by a sister, Colette Jones, his maternal Grandparents Keith and Beulah McGill and Thomas Watkins.
Graveside services and burial will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at South Dover Rural Cemetery, Route 55, Wingdale, NY with Rev. Anthony Bacino officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lexington Center for Recovery, 3 Corporate Drive, Peekskill, NY 10566.
