Delia Di Capua Obituary
POUGHKEEPSIE - Delia M. Di Capua 80, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie passed away on Friday June 17, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Mrs. Di Capua was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Italian Center, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church both in Poughkeepsie.
She was an avid cook, who loved to cook for her family and friends.
Mrs. Di Capua was born in Poughkeepsie on February 14, 1931. She was the daughter of Gino J., and Yolanda Bertolozzi Pecchia.
On September 21, 1956 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie she married Savino R. Di Capua. Mr. Di Capua predeceased her on December 28, 1971.
Survivors include her daughters; Debbie Garbellano and her husband Rocco of Poughkeepsie, Maria Dolce, and her husband Stephen of Poughkeepsie, Sandrina Hall and her husband John of Poughkeepsie, her sons; Dominick Di Capua of Pleasant Valley, Gino Di Capua and his wife Lois currently of Las Vagas Nevada, her grandchildren; Vincent, Dominick, and Christopher Garbellano, Andrew, and Joseph Dolce, Elisa, and Anthony Di Capua, Emma Hall, her sisters; Gloria Lavery and her husband Charles of Hyde Park, Elisa Vecchiarelli and her husband Umberto of Poughkeepsie, her brothers; Americo Pecchia of Poughkeepsie, Paul Pecchia and his wife Gloria of Poughkeepsie, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Emilia Pecchia.
Mrs. Di Capua was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Foundation Inc. 374 Violet Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
Calling hours are Monday June 20, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc. 218 Mill St. Poughkeepsie, N.Y 12601.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday June 21, 2011 9:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie.
Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery Poughkeepsie.
