McFadden
Ulster - Donald E. McFadden, 81, formerly of Poughkeepsie, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2016 at home. He was born October 30, 1934 in Endicott, NY to the late John and Laneta (Brady) McFadden. He was married to Billie (Haley) McFadden, they wed on Sept 13th 1989.
Don served in the US Army and US Navy during the Korean War. He worked for 26 years at the Hudson River Psychiatric Hospital in Poughkeepsie, before retiring in 1988. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to golf and was a former member of the Elks Club in Poughkeepsie.
Donald is survived by his wife, Billie (Haley) McFadden, his sons, Mark and Cliff of Pleasant Valley, NY, and Kirk McFadden of Bethlehem, PA, his sister, Norma McFadden of Endicott, NY, his step daughter, Kathleen Meuser of Highland, NY, his friends, Curly, Kay & David Campbell, and Walt Gontesky of Johnson City, NY, his pet, Ginger, many grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia, and his sisters, Janet Hadamik and Betty Knox.
The family would like to thank Hudson Valley Hospice for all their care and support.

I remember Uncle Donald fondly. I was too young to get to know him as a close friend but only as a nephew.

I met my Father, Donald McFadden, when I was 33 years old. He was nothing like the horror stories my Mother had told me about him. He was exactly like me. Looked like me, behaved like me, even held his fork the same way. Excellent cook. Loved animals. I will always be glad I reached out to meet him. Love you and will always miss you. Wish we had had more time. Greg.
