Doris E. Perotti

Millerton - Doris Elizabeth (Loper) Perotti, 94, passed away on August 7, 2014. She was the loving wife to the late Frank S. Perotti Sr. Doris was born in Sharon, CT on June 21, 1920 to the late Clifford and Hazel (Miller), Loper.

Doris graduated from Millerton High School in 1938. She was the Senior Class President and Valedictorian. She was a homemaker and learned a lot of her skills from Mrs. Drumm of Millerton, NY. Doris loved birds, plants, flowers and her vegetable gardening. She loved canning, freezing and making grape jelly from her grapes. Doris spent hours crocheting and doing embroidery. Doris was a big sports fan and loved the NY Mets. She was an avid reader and was all about her family. Doris always made sure to take care of everyone even beyond family. She had a lot of influence on young kids who wanted to learn the trade of farming. She not only taught them the value of hard work but also welcomed them into her house, sharing family meals and having great conversations.

Doris is predeceased by her husband and parents. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Eva and Beatrice and her brothers, Donald, Charles and Robert. Doris is survived by her five sons: John and his wife, Joan, Frank Jr. and his wife, Maura, Robert and his wife, Sue, James and Charles and his wife, Jayne. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Loper. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kelly Galgano, Terry Perotti, Stephen Perotti, Tony Perotti, Nathan Perotti, Adam Perotti, Jaine Perotti, Audrey Perotti, Grace Perotti, Wendy Cady, Timothy Perotti, Pierce Perotti and Syndey Perotti. Doris is also survived by several great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 10th from 5-8 pm at the Kenny Funeral Homes, 41 Main Street, Sharon, CT 06069. Her funeral will be held on Monday, August 11th at 11 am at Saint Patricks Church in Millerton, NY. Memorial Contributions may be made to Noble Horizons, 17 Cobble Rd, Salisbury, CT 06068 and the Millerton Fire Company, 24 Century Blvd, Millerton, NY 12546. The Kenny Funeral Home, of Sharon CT has care of arrangements.
