Dorothy Maneri Obituary

Dorothy "Dottie"

E. Maneri

MURRELLS INLET, SC - Dorothy E. Maneri, 89, a long time resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, died peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2012 at The Lakes at Litchfield in Pawley's Island where she had lived for the past three years. Prior to living in Pawleys Island, Dottie retired from Poughkeepsie to Murrells Inlet, SC where she lived for twenty years.

Dottie was born on July 4, 1923 in Elizabeth, NJ. She attended Newburgh schools and Saint Luke's School of Nursing and became a registered nurse in 1944. Dottie was employed by IBM as an RN in the main medical department in Poughkeepsie for many years before retiring in 1986.

On January 19, 1958 Dottie married Anthony G. Maneri. Anthony predeceased Dottie this past August. Dottie and Anthony loved to dance and would do so every week up until five years ago. Dottie enjoyed golf, traveling, loved all animals and had an infectious smile that would light up a room.

Dottie is survived by her children, Tony Maneri of West Valley, UT, Michelle Maneri of Brigantine, NJ, and Matt Maneri and his wife Lynn of Poughkeepsie. She is also survived by her two beautiful grandchildren, Jenna and Morgan Maneri.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial donations can be made in Dottie's name to Regency Hospice, 119433 Grand Haven Dr. Garden City, SC. 29576.
