Frank Davis Obituary

Frank Davis

Beacon - Frank Davis, 75, of Beacon, NY passed away November 13, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was born May 23, 1941 in Georgetown, SC to the late Addison and Bertha Davis.

He was employed with IBM and retired after twenty years of service. Frank loved sports and was a loyal NY teams fan. He loved people and would strike up a conversation with anyone he came in contact with. You could always get a laugh as he always had a joke to share. His positive attitude and faith in God allowed him to gracefully endure his battle with cancer. He fought a good fight. He could not have done it so long without the help of his cousin Louis Simmons.

Frank is survived by his daughters; Bridget Davis of Whitehall, Pennsylvania, Regina Sweat of Poughkeepsie, NY, Leana Smith of New Windsor, NY, sisters; Ida Anderson and Bertha Morgan of Stockbridge, GA, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Frank is predeceased by his son Frank Jr, sister Jessie Vereen Cruz, brothers Harold (LC) Davis and Edward Davis.

Visitation will be 11:00am-12:00pm, with a Funeral service beginning at 12:00pm on Saturday, November 19th at Springfield Baptist Church, 8 Mattie Cooper Square, Beacon, NY 12508. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc. 39 So. Hamilton St. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. 845-452-1840. It is never easy to lose a loved one, I pray you find comfort in Gods promise found at John 6:40 which says that soon we will see all our loved ones again. My deepest condolences to the family.

Kathy and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Uncle Frank. I didn't find out until today he was good friends with my Dad. What a "small world". My Dad use to ask me to drop him off at Frank's house and I never made that connection.
They are greeting each other in Heaven.....
