Lake Worth, FL - Frederick R. Delamater, age 86, died at home on June 11, 2017 after a brief illness.

Fred was born on August 4, 1930 in Poughkeepsie, New York. He worked as a Correctional Guard for Green Haven Prison and upon retirement, moved to Boynton Beach, Florida.

Fred proudly served his country while in the Navy.

Survivors include his children, Linda Loucks and her husband John, of Poughkeepsie, Frederick J. Delamater, and his wife Margaret of Poughkeepsie, Dennis R. Delamater of Lake Worth, Florida, Stepdaughters, Gail Lydecker, Barbara J. Wilson, Shirley Davison and Catherine Root all of Poughkeepsie, NY, Stepson, Steven Wilson of Albany, NY, Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Sisters include, Lynette Powell of Florida and Peg DeLamater of South Carolina

Fred was predeceased by his life partner, Barbara M. Wilson, and his parents, Clarance and Dorothy Delamater,

There will be no calling hours; Cremation will be at the convenience of the family; Funeral services are private.
