Middlemiss, Jr.
MILLBROOK - George Hall Middlemiss, Jr., beloved son of George Hall Middlemiss, Sr., and Louise Johnson Middlemiss, died peacefully in his sleep on June 7,, 2016. He will be missed by family and friends. George was preceded in death by his father, George Hall Middlemiss, Sr. George is survived by his mother, Louise Johnson Middlemiss of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; his sister, Wendy Middlemiss and her family in Denton, Texas, and his brother, Arthur Dewitt Middlemiss and his family in Pelham, New York.
George graduated from Millbrook High School in 1975 and completed studies at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, where his favorite subject was biology. Following his time at Marist, George worked on the Alaskan Pipeline and with his father on his family's farm. Throughout his life, George lived in New York spending the last 20 years in Putnam County. George had a passion for growing plants, often sharing vegetables from his garden with neighbors and friends. George's kindness and compassion made those around him smile. His laugh invited you to join in. His care for others stays behind in our memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Mental Health Association in Putnam County, 1620 Rt. 22, Brewster, NY 10509 with the notation: George Middlemiss Memorial Fund.
