Mme. Gold was the finest teacher. Every day in her class was uplifting and intense for all. I will always love the time we had together. My condolences Stephen. I will always remember her support, instruction and sense of humor. I am shocked to learn she has gone to be with God. Je me souviens toujours. Je suis désolée. Her love of French lives on as my own son now studied it in college since I spent his whole life talking about my experience with the language.

Heady was the consummate French Teacher! I know because I taught next to her for over 20 years and spoke to her quite often at FD Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.

Steve, I'm sorry about Hedy's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of loss and mourning. Madame Gold, as her students called her, was an excellent professor! She challenged generations of students to perform at their best in her French classes. To me, Hedy was an inspiring mentor, a supportive colleague and a friend. I will always remember her for her honesty and for her excellence in teaching.

Steve I just heard about Hedy. I am completely shocked! I have always thought of her as one who would outlast all of us. I always enjoyed being around her. Words will never be able to express my sympathy for you. I knew her as a student as well as an associate.

Mrs. Gold was my French teacher at FDR. I always admired her; she was a great teacher, and inspired me to take three more years of French at Marist College! She had a lot of class, and I am very sad to hear of her passing.

Madame Gold was an excellent teacher. I studied french for a total of 8 years and consider traveling to the country and speaking the language one of the great joys of my life. She expected high standards, and we rose to meet them. My sincere condolences.

She was the only teacher in high school who scared me. That meant I always did her homework first, and prepared the most for her class. That didn't seem like a good thing at the time, but looking back, we'd all be better with more Mrs. Golds in our schools.
