Michael Kryjak Obituary
Born in Shenandoah, Feb. 7, 1955, he was the son of the late Paul and Sylvia Lakiewicz Kryjak.
Michael was a 1972 graduate of Cardinal Brennan High School. He attended Bloomsburg State College, Trinity College of Dublin, Ireland, and King's College, Wilkes-Barre. He graduated from Schiller University of Heidelberg, Germany, with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology. He furthered his education with the many programs he participated and the seminars he attended.
Mr. Kryjak was an adjunct faculty member for Lehigh-Carbon Community College, Schnecksville; Delaware Valley College, Doylestown; and Reading Area Community College, Reading. He was a facilitator at Rosemont College, Rosemont. He worked as a research assistant for Penn State University, Hazleton. Michael had worked at the Schuylkill County Prison as a senior counselor. He served in counseling and advisory positions for St. Joseph's Medical Center, Reading; Brandywine Hospital and Trauma Center, Coatesville; and Keystone Job Corp, Drums.
He was a guest lecturer at Bloomsburg State College, Kutztown State College and King's College. Michael was often invited to speak on sociological issues.
Michael was a member of the American Sociological Association, Lambertville Historical Society, New Hope Historical Society and Southeastern Pennsylvania Orchid Society.
Private funeral services will be held from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, with the Rev. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian officiating. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Donations in Michael's memory can be sent to Lehigh-Carbon Community College Foundation, 4525 Education Park Drive, Schnecksville, PA 18078.
Lehigh-Carbon Community College at the Morgan Center, Tamaqua Campus, has scheduled a memorial service on Monday evening at 7 p.m. All faculty, staff, students, family and friends of Mr. Kryjak's are invited to attend.

I just learned of the tragedy only today from a faculty member of LCCC. I am deeply saddened, as he was an incredible man, teacher and leader. He was my psychology teacher in Fall '07, and I will always remember all he has taught me. Thank you for so many wonderful moments. Rest In Peace

LCCC will not be the same without Mr Kryjak. I am deeply saddened by his passing. His unique teaching style helped you learn the material while enjoying the class.
