Joan Meehan Obituary
Wappingers Falls, NY - Joan Gail Meehan, 76, of Wappingers Falls, NY, ascended into heaven on Sunday, January 11, 2015.
She was born June 1, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, to Mr and Mrs Joseph and Dorothy Papac.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband William "Bill" Meehan. Also surviving are her two daughters, Kelly Ann Praino (Peter) of Savannah, Georgia, and Heather MacMaster-Miele (Michael) of Belle Mead, NJ and a son William MacMaster (Sandy) of Maryland; two granddaughters Danielle (Praino) Davis and Paige Miele and Grandson Michael P. Miele. One great grandson Aidan Davis.
Joan was a longtime resident of Wappingers Falls of where she lived in the general area since 1962. Joan had served as President of the PTA when her children were young, owned a boutique and became a cosmetologist through the 1970's to 1980's and then became a homemaker and member of the Women's Auxiliary of VFW Post number 5913. Joan loved to cook and decorate, enjoyed reading, old movies and socializing with friends. She had a wonderful laugh that could light up a room. Our dear wife, mom, friend, angel and muse you have taught us how to live life fully, passionately, bravely and courageously. You will continue to be dearly missed, more and more as time goes on.
Services are for immediate family only. Arrangements are in charge of the Delehanty Funeral Home, Wappingers Falls.
