North Port, FL - John F Hering, age 66 died at home in North Port Florida, on April 18th 2017 after complications from Advanced COPD and Peripheral Vascular Disease. He has suffered with chronic health problems for several years. John was born on January 22 1951 at

Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie NY where he lived most of his life. John was the son of Ronald and Patricia Hering who predeceased him. John attended Pougkeepsie High School graduating in 1972. John was also a 16 year Navy Veteran receiving multiple service awards. John had been employed by Shatz Federal, Bearing, IBM, and the NYS prison system. John is survived by his sister, Katharine Gugumuck, her husband Fred and their four children, Chris, Laura and her husband Matt Dougherty, Karen and Dave. He is also survived by his brother Ronald Hering and his two children, Lindsay Owens and her husband Alan as well 4 great nephews, Shea, Oliver, Finn and Mac. Ron's other child is his son Brian Hering who is engaged to

Audra Choploski who has two children, Audrianna and Aiden Choploski. John also has cousins in the Hudson Valley area.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary Help of Christians Church in Aiken SC. John will be laid to rest at the Calvary Cementery located on the Church Property. Date of service and
