John Perricone Obituary

John Perricone, Sr.

BEEKMAN - John J. Perricone, Sr., 80, an area resident for almost 20 years and formerly of Harrison, NY died on Monday, August 12, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital after brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in New Rochelle on August 18, 1932, he was the son of the late Carlo and Anna (Catalano) Perricone. On July 3, 1955 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Vernon, John married Edith Gelardi who remains at home.

John proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with One Bronze Star among other medals. As the Recording Secretary for Teamsters Local 445 in Newburgh, he was employed as a Supervisor for Halmar and DeFoe Corporation for 3 years until his retirement in 1994. He also worked for Neptune World Wide Movers in New Rochelle for 34 years.

An avid golfer, John was also a fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He was a member of the American Legion in New Rochelle.

In addition to his loving wife of over 58 years, John is survived by his children, Ann Marie Dannenberg and her husband David of Poughkeepsie, John J. Perricone, Jr. of Delmar, and Theresa Keeney and her husband David of Ossining; his grandchildren, Lauren Ballos and her husband Matthew of Danbury, CT, Melissa Keeney at home, John J. Perricone, III at home, and the twins, Kristen and Lindsey Keeney at home; his siblings, Peter Perricone of FL, Marge Perrino of CT, and Marie Kilstrom of TX; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale with military honors.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. My husband was a cousin of John and spoke very highly of John. He was also with John in Local 445. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers - Mrs. Joseph Colosimo Jr.
