I have taught hundreds of students during my 10 years at Pace University. Joe stands out amongst them. For his thoughtfulness. For his intelligence. For his kindness. For his curiosity. Joe wanted to stay in touch with his old Finance professor, so he reached out after graduation and we would get together for a drink a couple of times a year. He was totally engaged in his job and would tell me about the projects and some of the challenges at JP Morgan. I miss those times so much and only wish Joe had shared more with me about what was hurting him. He had a beautiful future ahead. But I am grateful to have known him. Doug Watson.

Lanza Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I never met Joey, but Gary was such a huge support for me throughout my years at Horace Greeley HS. I will never forget you and am ever so greatful for you. No parent should have to go through this. Wishing you peace and love in this very difficult time.

My condolences to the Lanza family. Joe was a pleasure to work with, he always was in positive spirits which I could feel all the way in Ohio, whenever we communicated. :)

I met Joe in late January, 2014. I was his teacher in a finance course he took at Pace University. He was a great student, always there, asking good questions and making insightful comments in class. Obviously, a really smart guy; got an A; top of class!
Usually, that would be it, but Joe kept up with me after he graduated and was working at JP Morgan. He gave me updates on risk management issues at JP Morgan that we had discussed in my class. We decided to get together, and that's when I really got to know Joe. Over the past 3 years we'd meet 2 or 3 times a year with 2 of his friends from my class. It was great fun, and I came to appreciate Joe's personal qualities of honesty, integrity, a seriousness of purpose all included in this guy who had a great sense of humor and was lots of fun to be with.
Nothing is more devastating than someone dying so young with so much promise. I send my sincere condolences to his parents, sisters and nieces.

You were the only one that came to the hospital to visit me after I came out of a coma. I remember I'm calling say there was a Joey here and when you walked in the look on my face I could only imagine you are the only one Crim high school that came to see me you are a real friend and I'm sorry about that speeding ticket you got on 55 just because you are rushing to make it there... rip Joey.... Candice and Tracy if you can see this it's Kenny s please message me on either Instagram or Facebook if you need anything.

I was shocked to hear about Joe's passing. We went to school together. He was a good guy & always so nice. We'd run into each other from time to time since high school & he'd always come over to say hi & to catch up. Rest peacefully Joe!!

Gary I am so very very sorry to hear of Joeys passing. Life will never be the same for anyone who knew & loved him. We had so much fun laughing & talking with him when he visited FL. Will always remember being together at New Smyrna watching the launch. You and your family are in our thoughts and we pray for you all, in time, to find some measure of peace.
