Joyce E. (Catalano) Richards
Fishkill - Joyce E. (Catalano) Richards, 82, of Fishkill, died on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh.
Born September 23, 1938, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Catalano and Edith Gesondi Catalano.
In the 1960's, Joyce worked at WHVW Radio station in Hyde Park announcing the recent area births on the show titled "Who's New in Pink and Blue". She was also a feature writer for the Poughkeepsie Journal and had interviewed various celebrities such as William Shatner, Rex Harrison, Gene Kelly and Timothy Leary. In 1976 she moved to New Jersey and was employed as key punch operator for Ortho Pharmaceuticals in Raritan and later as a telecommunications manager at AT&T's corporate headquarters in Bedminster. Most recently, Joyce worked for the Wappingers Central School District as a Bus Driver for many years before her retirement in 2014.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Richards and her husband Patrick Davis, of Missoula, MT; Lori Miranda and her husband Otto, of Verbank; and Michele Richards and her husband Donald Tinnie of Saugerties; 3 granddaughters: Danielle Hunt and her husband Peter of Shoreline, WA; Alyssa Miranda Spano and her husband Justin of Carmel; and Juliet Tinnie of Saugerties. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren: Katherine Hunt, Lewis Hunt and Violet Spano; and a sister, Jeanne Pierantozzi of Poughkeepsie.
Along with her parents she was predeceased by her siblings Marion Troiano, Violet Budai, Edward Catalano, Gloria Dubrasky, James Catalano and Janet Borg.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
