Father Jude made an indelible impact on my life. He married my husband and I in July of 1979. Prior to that, we came to know him as we served as youth group directors at Church of Saint Gabriel in Saddle River, New Jersey. He was invaluable to us and our teenagers as he guided and inspired us to better understand Christ's teachings and the role of faith in our lives. He was instrumental in helping my husband and I to internalize that our wedding was only one day and not to dwell on the small stuff. He walked through life with such humility. We enjoyed quality time sharing dinner and conversation that was full of his advice, wisdom and compassion. I will always think of him as a gift from God. He made me a better person. May he rest in peace eternally.

Fr Jude Duffy was a gifted and skilled priest and I treasured his friendship, wisdom and advice. He was a spiritual giant- humble and compassionate. It was fun living and with him in Tampa in the early 1990s. Loved his New York sense of humor. Kept us laughing a lot. Dr. King once said that he didn´t want to go to heaven if there´s no laughter there. I am sure there is plenty of laughter there with Jude.

When God created Fr. Jude He did so knowing the kind of world we would be living in and He knew for all those that met Fr. Jude it would be through Fr. Jude that we could get a glimpse and truly see some of the "GOOD" the world has to offer, some of its best.

Fr. Jude was a beacon of light that shined brightly, never wavering that guided all those who embraced him to a closer and more loving personal relationship with Jesus. This was not by mistake, it was well thought out, a clever design and executed with pristine precision through divine intervention. God gave the world a blessing by sharing Fr. Jude with us all. Fr. Jude was a gentle soul whom God has called home. We are all grateful and pleased to know Fr. Jude is home. Rest in peace, brother, rest in peace.

I am a better man, a better friend, a better Christian, and a more devout Catholic because of Fr. Jude. Had Fr. Jude not come into my life 25 years ago at Most Holy Redeemer who knows where I would be today. But this I know for sure, spiritually, I am who I am today because of this wonderful, caring and gentle man and I know I am not alone and that gives me great comfort in a time of such sorrow.

We were all made better with Fr. Jude being our friend. We were all better with Fr. Jude being our spiritual leader, simply put, WE ARE ALL BETTER BECAUSE OF FR. JUDE!

Thank you Fr. Jude for all you were to so many people, especially for all you did for one lowly sinner, Kevin Held. You will be missed, my dear friend, but know that my heart is with you as you enter the Kingdom of Heaven. You made the world, especially, my small corner a better place, my dear friend. As I write these final words, I weep, but my tears are joyous for what God has planned for you next. Your home, my dear brother in Christ Jesus, YOUR HOME, a most well deserved trip.

In His Name and SERVICE,
Kevin Held

Father Jude was a wonderful man and an extraordinary priest. Our memories of him go back many years and every memory is a treasure. He traveled with us to Medjugorje several times and helped with our humanitarian work in Bosnia. Thoughts of the times we spent together bring laughter, tears and a longing to be with him again. He was in a class by himself and no one can fill his shoes. Our love for him and gratitude for having had him in our lives know no limits. We love you, Father Jude, for all eternity.

Jude. He was a light in a world that needs more light. So grateful for this man in my life. So real and funny and strong. He helped guide my spirit. Just thinking of him brought me peace and optimism.

Fr. Jude Duffy was our First Spiritual Director for years and we love him and will miss him. We had a special way of sharing our stories of life with a twin. You are missed and we will pray daily for your prayers in heaven to cover us as ours will reach you. The Lord is smiling to have this soul of Fr. Jude Duffy home.

Father Jude is my great uncle. His brother, George is my grandfather. Having never met my grandfather, it was so nice to know all of his siblings. Rest in peace, Jude, your work here is done.

Fr. Jude has been a part of my life since I was born. He baptized me and all of my siblings and has been involved in every family function for as long as I can remember. He will be greatly missed by all in the Muldoon family.

My memories of Father Jude go back to the early 90's when he was the rector at Most Holy Redeemer, Tampa, FL. I had the honor of going through the RCIA program under his watch and I prayed for him tonight at Mass. He made my first confession, confirmation and first communion very special. He also blessed my marriage to James Crouch right after being received into the church. I missed him when he left Tampa. Anyone who knew him, loved him.
