Kathryn Salani Obituary
FISHKILL - Kathryn M. Salani, 55, an area resident for 15 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Rosary Hill Home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Bronxville on April 9, 1958, she was the daughter of Henry C. and Patricia Carney Hopkinson of Poughkeepsie. Kathryn was employed as a cook at the Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne for 12 years. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, driving, cooking, reading and drawing. She especially loved helping others.
In addition to her parents, Kathryn is survived by her son, Robert Salani of Wappingers Falls; her sisters, Carol Ranalli of Mamaroneck and Janet Hopkinson of Poughkeepsie; her brothers, Andrew Hopkinson of Ridgefield, CT, James Hopkinson of White Plains and Peter Hopkinson of Patterson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward T. Hopkinson on November 23, 2001.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Stanislaus Church, 1590 Main Street, Pleasant Valley followed by interment in the Clove Cemetery in Union Vale.
