We are so terribly saddened to hear about your loss of Leo. We always admired and respected him, as did Daddy (J. C. Wilks). Daddy had the utmost respect for Leo both at IBM and as a personal friend. Leo was such a sweet & wonderful man and always a gentleman. The love that he had for his beautiful wife, Evelyn, and his family was reflected in his eyes. He will be missed by many, many people. We shall cherish knowing him. You're all in our thoughts & prayers.

Sorry for the loss of Leo. My prayers are for him and his family.I worked with Leo at IBM in the 50's. Leo was a great sports official and he helped other officials at the college level. I spoke to him often at the Marist games. Sports was his passion and he will certainly be missed.

To Aunt Ebby, Gary, Karen, Sherri, Kathy and all of your extended families,
Daryl and I were so sorry to hear about Uncle Leo passing. Daryl has fond memories of his Dad's stories about his and Uncle Leo's basketball days. Delores, John and myself reflected on all the "holidays" spent in Stanfordville, which I was so lucky to have been apart of my "extended family". We send our condolences and thoughts with you at this "not so easy" time.

Evelyn, Kathi and family,
I am sorry to hear of your loss, my prayers are with you. I still have such fond memories growing up and going camping, watching him referee, and I still can see him watching the Yankees and the Rangers games dowstairs in your family room.

I remember Leo as an excellent basketball referee. He refereed several of the games we played, in the Poughkeepsie area, in the 70's and 80's. He was fair, solid, tolerant of a little complaining, but also let you know when you crossed the line. I always knew we were going to get a good game when he reffed. He was one of the good guys.

Mr. Darling was a 2nd Dad to me when I was growing up. Our families share so many wonderful memories that made our childhood great! He loved seeing my kids in church and was always quick with a hug, kiss on the cheek, and "how everything...how's Mom and Dad"...Keep his warm smile, laughter, generosity, and love in your hearts...we will all miss him very much. God Bless your family...now and always.

Leo or Mr. Darling, as we called him, was the manager of our Little League team in 1970 when we won the Town Championship. How lucky we all were to be under the influence, at a young age, of a person with with such upstanding character. He taught us respect for others, ourselves and the game we played. He treated us like young men when we were still boys and as consequence, young men we became. Thank you Leo and sincere condolences to a wonderful family.
