Martin Karchmer Obituary
Karchmer
Martin Barry Karchmer died on September 19 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY after receiving palliative care. He was 79. Born on May 22, 1935 at Mt. Eden Hospital, Bronx, NY, Martin was the only child of Harry Karchmer and Rose Karchmer (Bloch). He was preceded in death by his parents. His wife passed away in 2000. Survivors of his immediate family include his son David Karchmer and wife Melissa Karchmer (Marchese) of Staatsburg, NY and their children, Samantha, Nicholas, Nadine and Sarah; his daughter Jennifer Karchmer of Montpellier, France; and his daughter Dr. Rachel Klein (Karchmer) and husband Joseph Klein of Blue Bell, PA, and their son Ryan.
Martin graduated from Yonkers High School in 1953 and married Helen Karchmer (Brown), also of Yonkers, NY, on April 3, 1965.
A private memorial service and burial took place on September 21 at the Temple Rodeph Sholom Cemetery in Warwarsing, NY.
